My next project...
My next project is a Dutch short story competition in the genre scifi, horror, fantasy and thriller. Word count has a max. of 6000. Prize is publication in magazine and prize money of 1000 euro's. It's due on the 31ste of December at 23:59. Of course I'm gonna make sure it's done before that time. I don't think my friends or family will appreciate it much if I’m not mentally there for the celebrations. Until the deadline I'll keep posting updates of my progress. The updates will contain:

* Chosen genre(s) (max. 2 stories)
* Storyline developments
* Problem encounters (writers block, lack of motivation, time)
* Editing
* Finding an alias (can't send it in with my own name)

Writing update (1)

Date: December 1st, 2009

So far I suck. No, I'm not experiencing writers block or lack of motivation. I just simply can't find the time. I've less than a month to figure things out, write and edit. I do have a story in my head but it consists of bits and pieces. So, nothing solid yet. Okay, I also know one of the genres which will be horror. Oh wait, I also decided on the gender of the main character. Hmm... let’s put some things on a list. I can never resist a good list ;-)

Genre: horror
Gender main character: female
Name main character: ?
Age main character: between 25-35
Villain or Hero: villain

And that was it. The rest is still too mangled up in my head to really make sense. I hope I have more next week.
